Production Processes and Wear

Kaolin, clay and feldspar processing lines and wear points

Explore equipment and wear parts by material characteristics, process stage and wear location.

Kaolin, clay and feldspar are industrial minerals, but their equipment duties differ substantially:

Kaolin processing includes wet dispersion, screening, degritting, cyclone classification, magnetic separation or bleaching, filtration and drying, with emphasis on brightness, particle size and iron contamination. Soft, sticky ball clay and bentonite require excavation, drying, deagglomeration, grinding, blending and plugging control; activating agents can introduce corrosion. Hard silicate feldspar commonly needs crushing, grinding, iron removal, magnetic separation or flotation, with significant abrasion. Calcined kaolin adds heat treatment at approximately 700–1,200°C after wet or dry preparation, requiring resistance to heat, thermal shock and powder erosion.
