Identify MX3 or MX4 First, Then Confirm Chamber, Drawing Number and Installed Version

The MX Series uses both a piston and rotating bowl assembly to adjust the setting and compensate for wear. Liners must be identified as a matched set for the machine model and chamber. Bushes, gears, seals and hydraulic parts also require the serial number, interfaces and fit dimensions.

Metso MX3 and MX4 Model Range

This table retains the head diameter, feed opening, power, overall dimensions, weight and maximum capacity published in the 2019 OEM brochure. It is not presented as a current global availability list.

Model Head Diameter Maximum Feed Opening Maximum Power Overall Dimensions (L×W×H) Machine Weight Maximum Capacity
MX3 1050 mm 230 mm 220 kW 3400 × 2490 × 2845 mm 16,600 kg 300–420 t/h
MX4 1175 mm 257 mm 315 kW 3700 × 2840 × 2930 mm 21,200 kg 400–600 t/h

Capacity varies with feed gradation, chamber, bulk density, moisture and crushability. Manufacturing spare parts still requires the serial number, chamber type, drawing revision and measured dimensions.

Wear Parts

Crushing-Chamber Liners and Frame Guards

Each installation position lists its loads, wear and candidate materials separately. Match mantles and bowl liners as a set for the MX model and chamber.

MX part numbers require a confirmed source. Submit any drawing number, used-part number or third-party cross-reference together with the MX3/MX4 model, chamber type, serial number and measured used-part dimensions.

Spare Parts

Drive, Bearing, Sealing and Adjustment Systems

Confirm standard spare parts by construction, material, tooth geometry, fits, lubrication and installed version; the MX Series name alone is insufficient.

Special Tooling

MX4 Mantle Lifting Tool

Only maintenance tooling explicitly listed by the OEM for MX4 is shown. GP, HP and general cone-crusher tools are not described as MX-specific.

MX4 Mantle Lifting Tool

MX4 Mantle Lifting Tool

Used to remove and install an MX4 mantle. The OEM documentation gives a rated load of 1,360 kg. Before purchase or manufacture, confirm the liner construction, lifting points, tool version and rated-load marking.

The documented tooling is not listed as a general MX3 tool, so MX3 suitability must not be assumed. Add other tools only after the exact machine and construction are established.

What information is needed to quote MX3 or MX4 liners?

Provide the complete model, serial number, crushing-chamber type, drawing number or current part number, closed-side setting, used-part photographs, material, feed and wear conditions.

Are MX3 and MX4 liners and spare parts interchangeable?

They are not interchangeable by series name. Check each machine model, chamber type, drawing revision, interfaces, fits and used-part dimensions separately.

How should material be selected for MX Series crushing-chamber liners?

High-manganese steel is the usual candidate. Composite wear options may be assessed for highly abrasive and impact duties; final selection depends on rock type, feed, closed-side setting, wear pattern and target service life.

Submit the MX3 or MX4 model, liner number or spare-part drawing

Provide the complete model, serial number, nameplate, installation position, photographs of the current part, drawings, material and operating conditions. We use these to identify the part, assess materials, match manufacturing resources, coordinate quality control and arrange finished-part delivery.
