Production Processes and Wear

Cement and limestone process lines and wear points

Explore equipment and wear parts by material characteristics, process stage and wear location.

Quarrying involves impact and abrasion during drilling, blasting, loading and transport of limestone and flint inclusions. Grinding adds high-pressure compression, three-body abrasion, air/powder erosion and tramp-metal impact. Clinker burning at about 1,450°C brings thermal cycling, oxidation, sulphur, alkali and chloride attack, coating build-up and hot-material erosion.

Hammers, grinding rollers, kiln refractories, cooler grate plates and clinker-handling parts require different material systems. Select each for impact, abrasion, temperature, atmosphere, chemical attack and contamination limits.
