Strikes material directly at high speed and throws it against the apron liners. Blow bars are among the principal consumables contributing to impact crusher wear costs.
Blow Bar (Blow Bar)— Impact Crusher Wear part, position 01.
| Installation Position | In the blow bar slots around the rotor, position 01 in common layout A/B. |
| Main Function | Strikes material directly at high speed and throws it against the apron liners. Blow bars are among the principal consumables contributing to impact crusher wear costs. |
| Replacement Frequency | Very high replacement frequency; assess remaining section, turning limits, cracks, looseness, wear per tonne and rotor balance. |

|---|---|
| Material Options | High-manganese steel, martensitic steel, high-chromium white cast iron or ceramic/MMC composites |
| Typical Properties and Acceptance Criteria | Select blow bar material for the actual combination of impact and abrasion. High-manganese steel commonly starts around 180–240 HB and relies on impact work-hardening. Martensitic steel commonly lies around 45–55 HRC, balancing hardness and toughness. High-chromium white iron working layers are commonly around 58–65 HRC and suit finer, steady, highly abrasive feed with low to medium impact. Ceramic/MMC designs require verification of insert arrangement, matrix toughness and tramp-material limits. Acceptance checks include composition, heat treatment, hardness distribution, UT/MT, individual mass and weight matching across the set. |
| Principal Failure Mechanism | Impact, cutting and abrasive wear; sliding and three-body abrasion, local impact and cracking around fastener holes |
