Apron feeders provide heavy-duty feeding in mining, cement and metallurgy. Overlapping metal pans form a continuous conveying surface, with skirts to contain material. They feed crushers continuously from bins or stockpiles and withstand direct impact from large ore lumps. Wear parts are concentrated in the pans and chain system.

Material Information

  • Mn13Cr2 / Mn18Cr2 are candidate manganese steels with work-hardening capability. Assess actual impact loads and abrasion; the grade alone does not determine in-service hardness.
  • Hardox 500 is a candidate wear-resistant plate grade. Select it according to wear, impact, thickness and the material certificate.
  • 42CrMo: quenched and tempered for sprockets and heavy-duty chains.
