Material Information

  • Mn13Cr2 / Mn18Cr2 manganese steel: work-hardens under impact and is a candidate for high-impact transfer points.
  • Hardox 400/500/600: candidate wear-resistant plate grades. Selection must account for abrasion, impact, thickness, welding and forming requirements.
  • Alumina ceramics: a candidate lining for sliding abrasion. Select purity, thickness, backing and bonding to suit impact and temperature conditions.
  • Silicon carbide ceramics (SiC): a candidate for hot, corrosive service, subject to temperature and chemical compatibility.
  • Polyurethane: an elastic wear-resistant material that can reduce noise in moderately abrasive service.
