Production Processes and Wear

Road milling and asphalt recycling lines and wear points

Explore equipment and wear parts by material characteristics, process stage and wear location.

A road milling wear system extends beyond carbide cutting picks. It includes:

Cutting picks, toolholders, bases and milling drums; ejectors, wear plates, side plates, skid shoes, scraper plates and hold-down bars; primary and secondary conveyor belts, rollers, scrapers and discharge chutes; RAP crushing, screening, lifting, drying, mixing and conveying parts; and in-place cold-recycling rotor tools, mixing-chamber liners, nozzles and metering systems.

Select materials for pavement aggregate hardness, rebar or manhole-cover encounters, milling depth, tool spacing, machine speed, temperature, asphalt build-up and dust safety. Carbide grade, steel-body toughness, brazing, pick rotation and toolholder protection work as a system; a harder tip alone is not enough.
