Linepan Upper Deck, Bottom Plate and Wear Layer
Linepan Upper Deck, Bottom Plate & Wear Layer
The upper deck takes cyclic wear from coal, stone and flight chains; the bottom and return areas take chain impact and abrasion. Check pan length, width, plate thickness, chain center distance, upper/lower position, joint type and remaining thickness.
Material selection: Start with quenched and tempered wear plate for upper decks; assess composite plate or controlled hardfacing for severe erosion. Bottom plates also require weldability, fatigue, flatness and chain-clearance checks.
