Use the Model to Define Scope, Then Confirm Part and Assembly التفاصيل

P&H shovels use motors, gear reduction, drums and ropes for hoist, crowd, swing and propel. Gears, shafts, bushings, track shoes and dipper parts vary by model and installed version. Before manufacture, check nameplate, full model, assembly position, drawings or used parts, and key dimensions.

Payload, dipper capacity and output vary with dipper design, material density, loading cycle and site configuration. Final spare identification also requires serial number, assembly location and drawing reference or key used-part dimensions.

Wear parts

Dipper Leading Edge, Liners, Heel and Crawler قطع الغيار المستهلكة

Group parts by position and failure mode rather than assigning one material to all. Cards link to component pages and materials support initial selection. Final material, heat treatment and joining follow drawings, used parts and site wear.

Dipper Teeth and Adapters

Dipper Teeth & Adapters

At the dipper front, they take impact, compression and abrasion on penetration. Check shovel model, dipper size, tooth system, orientation, retention and used-part wear pattern.

Material assessment: Strong, tough wear-resistant alloy cast steel is the main candidate. Balance hardness, hardenability and impact toughness against ore hardness, lump size and failure mode.

Dipper Lip, Lip Protectors and Side Protectors

Dipper Lip & Shrouds

Protect the front and side wear zones and support the tooth system. Check lip profile, protector count, holes or locks, and adjacent adapters against dipper design.

Material assessment: Assess tough high-strength alloy cast steel for concentrated lip impact, then select replaceable protector alloys by local impact and sliding wear.

Dipper Internal Liners and External Wear Plates

Dipper Liners & Wear Plates

Cover floor, sides, back and high-flow erosion zones, replaced by wear map. Provide dipper model, plate location, thickness, holes, weld boundaries and used-part templates before manufacture.

Material assessment: Assess quenched-and-tempered and weldable wear plate. Equal hardness alone does not suit every position; consider impact, bending and welding constraints.

Dipper Heel Wear Bands

Dipper Heel Wear Band

Located at the rear underside near the material. OEM TRC literature emphasizes a raised heel to reduce contact with ore. Restore existing structures according to their wear profile.

Material assessment: Assess tough wear plate or alloy after distinguishing continuous sliding, local impact and structural deformation; then select material and joining.

Dipper Door and Roller-Latch Contact Parts

Dipper Door & Roller Latch Wear Interfaces

Door, roller latch, pins and contacts face cyclic impact and opening/closing wear. Distinguish door structure, rollers, pins, bushings and hydraulic snubbers rather than grouping them as one generic part.

Material assessment: Check pins and rollers for quenched-and-tempered alloy steel and surface hardening; bushings for bearing copper alloy or original composite. Door material follows original drawings.

Track Shoes and Ground-Contact قطع الغيار المستهلكة

Crawler Shoes & Undercarriage قطع الغيار المستهلكة

Heavy cast shoes carry machine weight, ground impact and ore wear, mating with drive sprockets and idlers. Check pitch, width, pin bores, grousers and side by model.

Material assessment: High-strength wear-resistant cast steel is the main candidate. Chemistry, heat treatment, hardness gradient and nondestructive testing follow used parts or confirmed drawings.

Core Hoist, Crowd, Swing and Propel Spares

Check motors, gearboxes, gears, shafts, drums, ropes, bearings, bushings, brakes and seals separately for each motion system. This page describes identifiable assemblies and omits references not confirmed by OEM catalogues or drawings.

Hoist Motors, Gearboxes and Drums

Hoist Motors, Gearcase & Drum

Mining motors, enclosed gearing, brakes, drums and ropes lift the dipper. Drum diameter, gear stages and drive configuration vary by model; verify machine and assembly references.

Material assessment: Check gears and shafts for transmission alloy steel, tooth heat treatment and fatigue strength. Verify drums, housings and brakes separately by original design, nondestructive testing and fit tolerances.

Crowd Drive and Rack-and-ترس صغير System

Crowd Drive, Rack & ترس صغير System

Crowd drives the twin-leg handle into the bank. Models may use belt-cushioned gearboxes or direct drive. Check handle racks, pinions, shafts, bearings, brakes and mounting centres.

Material assessment: Assess high-hardenability transmission steel for racks, pinions and shafts. Verify profile, case depth, tooth repair limits and mesh accuracy against drawings.

Swing Motors, Planetary Gearboxes and Ring Gear

Swing Motors, Planetary Gearcases & Swing Gear

Multiple motors and modular planetary gearboxes rotate the upperworks through a one-piece forged swing gear. Check model, tooth count, module, pressure angle, tooth direction, mounting holes and housing interfaces.

Material assessment: Verify swing and planetary gears and shafts for forged transmission steel, tooth hardening, fatigue life and tooth-surface nondestructive testing.

Propel Motors, Planetary Drives and Sprockets

Propel Motors, Planetary Drives & Sprockets

Independent left/right drives deliver torque to sprockets, working with shoes and idlers. Check motor, brake, planetary gearbox, output shaft, sprocket profile, pitch and seals as a set.

Material assessment: Assess high-strength transmission steel for gears, shafts and sprockets. Verify housings, bearings and seals separately for load, lubrication and mine contamination.

Shafts, Bearings, Bushings and Brakes

Shafts, Bearings, Bushings & Brakes

Each hoist, crowd, swing and propel system has dedicated shafts, rolling bearings, sliding bushings and brakes. Names alone do not establish interchangeability; provide system, model, assembly drawing and key fits.

Material assessment: Check shafts for quenched-and-tempered or surface-hardened alloy steel, bushings for copper alloy or original composite, and standard bearings/brake friction parts by full designation.

Wire Ropes, Sheaves and Connections

Ropes, Sheaves & Rope Connections

Hoist and suspension ropes, boom-point sheaves, drum connections and rope-end anchors need frequent inspection. Verify model, rope diameter, construction, length, reeving, groove profile and safety standards.

Material assessment: Verify rope construction, strength grade, lay direction and lubrication. Check sheaves and shafts for alloy steel, groove hardening and bearing fits; generic dimensions do not replace original requirements.

Is P&H 4100 or 2800 enough to identify a spare?

No. The series narrows the scope; also provide full model, serial number, assembly, drawing or used part, dimensions and orientation. Do not assume interchangeability between 4100C, 4100XPC, AC-90 or different drive/dipper configurations.

Why are no P&H OEM part numbers listed?

Only traceable references are published. Confirmed drawing and part numbers are added at the relevant positions after obtaining OEM catalogues, installation drawings, reliable third-party drawings or site records.

Does a material page specify the final grade?

No. It screens material families by impact, abrasion, fatigue, contact stress and fits. Final grade, hardness, heat treatment, inspection and tolerances require drawings, used-part analysis and site conditions.
