Identify the Drive Type, Then Locate the Body Part or Assembly

The 730E, 830E, 860E, 930E and 980E use a main generator, control system and wheel-end traction motors. HD models use a torque converter, transmission, propeller shaft, differential and final drives. Frames, suspension, bodies and some hydraulic components also vary with model, generation and installed options; payload class alone does not establish interchangeability.

Body design, liner layout, tyres and rims, electrical specification, engine, drive and emissions version may vary by region and project. Final identification requires the full model, serial number, nameplate, drawing reference and revision, and part location.

Wear parts

Body Floor, Front, Side and Discharge Protection Parts

Komatsu states that body liner configurations are selected for the mine material and application. The three generic component photographs identify liner or mudguard categories only and do not establish Komatsu OEM interchangeability. The other images are publicly available Komatsu equipment images.

Body Floor Liners

Dump Body Floor Liners

Installed in the main impact and sliding zones, floor liners withstand large-rock impact, compression and discharge wear. The image identifies the part category only. Manufacturing requires the truck model, body design, liner layout, thickness, hole positions and fastening method.

Material assessment: Quenched-and-tempered wear plate is the main candidate. High-impact loading zones require a balance of hardness, toughness, weldability, backing support and liner thickness.

02

Body Front Plate and Front-Wall Liners

Body Front Liners

Protect the front wall and its transition to the floor against initial loading impact and accumulated ore pressure. Check plate angle, ribs, radii, liner boundaries, welded or bolted joints, and overlap with floor liners.

Material assessment: High-strength, tough quenched-and-tempered wear plate is the main candidate. Composite structures may be assessed for heavy impact zones while preserving payload and structural fatigue safety.

Body البطانة الجانبية

Body البطانة الجانبية

Provide local protection along lower sidewalls, corners and material sliding zones. The image identifies the category only. Left/right position, plate number, overlap direction, edge clearance and weld boundaries must match the actual body drawings.

Material assessment: Weight and formability generally matter more for side liners than for the main impact zone. Confirm material, thickness and coverage against the wear map and payload limits.

Rear and Discharge-Edge قطع الغيار المستهلكة

Rear Discharge Wear Liners

The rear lip, discharge edge and rear floor face concentrated sliding wear and edge impact during tipping. Check rear geometry, wear-band width, liner layout, weld direction and interference with the body raised.

Material assessment: Highly wear-resistant steel plate is a candidate; composite wear structures may be assessed for severe local sliding. Final selection depends on ore abrasiveness, lump size, wet or sticky conditions and maintenance practice.

Bumper and Underbody Protection Parts

Bumper & Underbody Wear Protection

Replaceable guards near the bumper, underbody and wheel arches protect against flying stones, falling material and road impacts. Check shape, holes, ribs, mass and adjacent steering or suspension clearances at the specific location.

Material assessment: Flat guards may use quenched-and-tempered wear plate. Thick load-bearing or complex parts require a separate review of high-strength cast steel, welded construction and nondestructive testing requirements.

Mudguards and Stone Guards

Mud Guards & Rock Deflectors

Located around tyres and the frame, these guards deflect mud, stones and debris away from pipes, suspension and platforms. The image shows a similar structure only. Check side, tyre specification, brackets, flexible sections and movement envelope.

Material assessment: Specify rigid brackets for structural strength and corrosion resistance. For replaceable panels exposed to impact, verify wear plate or the resilient material required by the original design.

Spare parts

Core Spares for Frames, Suspension, Hydraulics and Drive Systems

Group spares by load-bearing structure, drive type and installed assembly. Generators, control cabinets and wheel motors on electric-drive trucks differ fundamentally from the torque converters, transmissions, differentials and final drives of HD models.

Frames, Cast-Steel Nodes and Body Hinges

Frame, Cast Nodes & Body Pivots

Frame rails, crossmembers, cast-steel nodes and body hinge mounts carry cyclic bending and torsion. Major repairs or replacements require the full model, serial number, material strength, weld boundaries, pin-bore alignment and nondestructive testing requirements.

Material assessment: Frame plate, cast-steel nodes and pins require different materials and processes. A single wear-resistant grade cannot replace structural design and fatigue assessment.

Generators, Control Cabinets and Wheel-End Traction Motors

Alternator, Controls & Wheel Motors

On electric-drive models from 730E to 980E, the diesel engine powers the main generator, which supplies wheel-end traction motors through the control cabinet and inverter system. Check model, system generation, control type, motor/generator nameplates, interfaces, cooling and gear ratio.

Material assessment: Original electrical and mechanical interfaces govern electric-drive assembly selection. Wheel-end gears, shafts and supports then require checks of transmission alloy steel, heat treatment, bearings and seals.

Torque Converters, Transmissions, Differentials and Final Drives

Torque Converter, Transmission & Final Drive

The HD mechanical drivetrain uses a torque converter, planetary transmission, propeller shaft, differential and final drives, unlike electric-drive models. Check the full HD model, ratios, tooth counts, splines, bearings, housings, and brake and lubrication interfaces.

Material assessment: Specify gears, shafts and splines through heavy-duty transmission alloy steel and surface-hardening requirements. Check large housings and supports for casting quality, mating bores and nondestructive testing.

Suspension Cylinders, Steering and Hoist Hydraulics

Suspension, Steering & Hoist Hydraulics

Front and rear suspension cylinders, steering circuits and two-stage body hoist cylinders include barrels, rods, guides, seals, valves and piping. Provide location, bore, rod diameter, stroke, connections, pressure and records of leakage or scoring.

Material assessment: Cylinder rods and load-bearing shafts require quenching, tempering and surface-hardening review. Select seals by pressure, temperature, fluid, speed and contamination level; equipment model alone does not establish interchangeability.

Brakes, Hubs, المحامل والموانع

Brakes, Hubs, Bearings & الموانع

Wet multi-disc brakes, hubs, bearings, seals and rim interfaces are safety-critical assemblies. Distinguish electric and mechanical drive, front and rear positions, brake design, tyre and rim specifications and the complete installed version.

Material assessment: Verify brake friction pairs, geared shafts, bearings and seals against their original designs and traceable specifications. Generic material descriptions cannot replace safety checks.

Body Hoist Pivots, Pins and Bushings

Body Hoist Pivots, Pins & Bushings

Rear body hinges and upper and lower hoist-cylinder pivots carry heavy oscillating loads and impact. They include pins, bushings, thrust parts, seals and lugs. Check diameter, length, lubrication holes, retention, housing bores and wear.

Material assessment: Review pins for quenched-and-tempered alloy steel and surface hardening. Check bushings against bearing copper alloys, steel-backed composites or the original design. Confirm fits, lubrication and housing-bore repair together.

Can spares be shared between Komatsu electric-drive trucks and HD mechanical-drive trucks?

No. Models from 730E to 980E use a main generator, control system and wheel-end traction motors. HD models use a torque converter, mechanical transmission, propeller shaft, differential and final drives. First establish the full model, drive type, serial number and assembly.

Is the model name 930E or HD785 enough to identify body liners?

No. Also provide the suffix and generation, serial number, body design, liner layout, position, thickness, holes or weld boundaries, used-part photographs, current material and ore conditions.

How can a truck part be identified without an OEM drawing reference?

Start with the truck nameplate, full model and serial number, part location, assembly nameplate, used-part photographs, key dimensions and material test results. These establish whether catalogue checks, drawing tracing or measurement of the physical part can confirm it.
