Distinguish Hydraulic Excavators from Electric Rope Shovels Before Identifying Parts

PC machines use hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, swing motors and travel motors, with face-shovel or backhoe equipment and diesel or electric drive options. This differs fundamentally from P&H electric rope shovels with hoist ropes, crowd racks and electric drives. Part identification requires the full model, serial number, configuration and assembly location.

Wear parts

Bucket Edges, Wear Packages and Ground-Contact Track Parts

Official literature confirms duty-specific bucket wear packages, Kprime tooth systems and mining track shoes for the PC series. Apart from the official wear-package image, individual part photographs come from a general hydraulic mining excavator library. They identify part categories and do not establish Komatsu OEM interchangeability.

Bucket Teeth

Bucket Teeth / Kprime Tooth System

At the front of the bucket, teeth penetrate material and withstand high impact and abrasion. The image identifies the part category. Verify the PC model, face-shovel or backhoe arrangement, bucket specification, tooth profile, locking parts and used tooth before confirmation.

Material review: High-strength, tough, wear-resistant alloy cast steel is a candidate. Select tooth profile and material according to rock hardness, lump size, impact-to-wear balance and observed failure mode.

02

Tooth Adapters, Caps and Locks

Tooth Adapters, Wear Caps & Locks

Adapters transfer tooth loads to the bucket lip, caps protect high-wear adapter areas, and locks allow replacement. Verify the tooth-system generation, mating faces, pin holes, orientation and wear limits as a complete set.

Material review: Adapters must satisfy impact, fatigue and welding or assembly requirements. Confirm lock materials and heat treatment against the original design; external shape alone is insufficient for reproduction.

Lip Protectors, Side Protectors and Cutting Edges

Lip Shrouds, Side Shrouds & Cutting Edges

Protect high-wear areas at the lip, sides and cutting edge. For the bucket type, check protector count, left/right position, interfaces, holes, thickness and compatibility with teeth and adapters.

Material review: Consider high-strength, tough alloy cast steel for high-impact areas. Quenched and tempered wear plate is a candidate for replaceable cutting edges and local guards, subject to the original design.

Bucket Liners and Wear Packages

Bucket Liners & Wear Packages

Protect the bottom, sides, back and high-wear flow zones according to face-shovel or backhoe design. OEM wear packages can be configured for duty. Manufacture requires a panel layout, thicknesses, hole positions and welding boundaries.

Material review: Quenched and tempered wear plate is the main candidate. At corners and connections with concentrated impact, balance hardness against damage risk and verify weldability and structural restraint.

Bucket Back, Side and Bottom Protection

Back, Side & Bottom Protection

External plates and blocks protect the bucket shell from dragging, erosion and rock impact. Use the wear map to check back, side, bottom and heel positions individually, avoiding left/right or front/rear mix-ups between similarly named parts.

Material review: Consider quenched and tempered wear plate for flat guards and wear-resistant alloy castings for thick protection blocks. Connection design, welds and base-structure strength determine the final solution together.

Track Shoes and Ground-Contact Undercarriage Parts

Mining Track Shoes & Undercarriage قطع الغيار المستهلكة

Track shoes carry machine loads, ground impact and rock abrasion while working with drive sprockets, track rollers, carrier rollers and idlers. Check pitch, width, pin holes, grouser profile, left/right position and undercarriage version.

Material review: High-strength wear-resistant cast steel is the main candidate. Confirm composition, heat treatment and inspection requirements according to loads, ground conditions, fracture locations and wear distribution.

Spare parts

Working المعدات, Swing, Travel and Hydraulic Spares

Core spares are grouped by assembly location. Names alone do not establish interchangeability between face shovels and backhoes, PC models, or diesel/electric configurations. Verify interfaces, pressure, gear data, fits and complete installation records.

Pins, Bushings and Connection Lugs

Pins, Bushings & Joint Supports

Boom, stick and bucket pivots use large-diameter pins, bushings, thrust parts and seals. Specify the pivot, pin diameter and length, lubrication holes, retention design, housing bore and wear measurements.

Material review: Review quenched and tempered alloy steel with surface strengthening for pins, and copper bearing alloys, steel-backed composites or the original design for bushings. Fits and lubrication matter more than hardness alone.

Can Komatsu PC hydraulic excavator and P&H electric rope shovel spares be used interchangeably?

No. PC machines use hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, swing and travel motors. P&H rope shovels use hoist ropes, drums, crowd mechanisms and large electric drives. Even similarly named teeth, track shoes or gears require separate design and interface checks.

Is the PC7000 or PC8000 model alone enough for a quotation?

No. Also provide the serial number, face-shovel or backhoe equipment, diesel or electric drive, assembly location, drawing or catalogue reference, used-part photographs, key dimensions, orientation and actual duty.

Why are unverified Komatsu OEM part numbers not published?

Only numbers supported by traceable catalogues, drawings or installation records are published. Automatically generated references or numbers from similar models are not substituted for genuine drawing and spare-part references.
