Protects discharge-end sidewalls and the frame against material compression and sliding wear.
Lower Cheek Plates (Lower Cheek Plate)— Jaw Crushers Wear part, position 04.
| Installation Position | Both sides of the lower crushing chamber, item 6 in the numbered diagram. |
| Main Function | Protects discharge-end sidewalls and the frame against material compression and sliding wear. |
| Replacement Frequency | Medium–high; record wear separately for left and right sides and upper and lower sections. |
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Material Options | High-manganese steel or 400–500 grade quenched and tempered wear plate, selected to the OEM drawing and impact duty |
| Typical Properties and Acceptance Criteria | Lower cheek plates occupy a zone of high compression and dense material flow, and generally wear faster than upper plates. Check working-surface hardness and microstructure, thickness, counterbores and fastening faces, edge cracks and left/right orientation. Assess impact conditions and fracture risk before increasing hardness. |
| Principal Failure Mechanism | Sliding or three-body abrasion, localized impact and cracking around fastener holes |
