Mantle

Forms the moving crushing face and works with the concaves to provide continuous compression crushing.

Mantle (Mantle)— Gyratory Crusher Wear part, position 03.

Location and Function

Material OptionsAustenitic high-manganese cast steel such as Mn18Cr2 or Mn22Cr2; OEM-approved composite-reinforced high-manganese steel may be used after validation for the duty
Typical Properties and Acceptance CriteriaTypical Mn18/Mn22 high-manganese steel may contain approximately 1.0–1.4% C, 17–23% Mn and 1–2.5% Cr. Initial hardness after solution treatment is commonly around 180–240 HB and may rise to around 400–550 HB through work-hardening under impact and compression. Acceptance checks focus on chemical composition, grain-boundary carbides, impact toughness, shrinkage cavities and slag inclusions, profile, mounting faces and lifting devices. A single hardness reading cannot predict service life.
Principal Failure MechanismSliding or three-body abrasion, localized impact and cracking around fastener holes

Information Required for RFQ

  • Equipment manufacturer, machine model, serial number, model details and latest drawing revision;
  • Part dimensions, unit weight, key tolerances, assembly and fastening method;
  • Current material, chemical composition, heat treatment, hardness and mechanical property reports;
  • Processed material, maximum particle size, hardness/abrasiveness, moisture and tramp material records;
  • Speed, load, temperature, pressure, process medium chemistry and continuous operating time;
  • Failure photographs, wear measurements, crack/fracture locations and current service life;
Materials and values are for preliminary engineering selection. Final chemical composition, heat treatment, hardness and dimensional tolerances must follow the OEM drawings and technical agreement.
