Gyratory Crusher Liner Backing Material

Gyratory Crusher Liner Backing Compound

Identify parts for Metso gyratory crushers, check models and drawing numbers, confirm materials and processes, and submit an inquiry.

Equipment, Models and Drawing References

Identify the installed machine model and key dimensions, then check the part number, drawing number, drawing revision and physical interfaces.

Models and Key Dimensions

Metso Superior Range

Drawing Number / Part Number

Provide the equipment nameplate, complete model and existing part number so that the installation position and drawings can be checked.

Drawing Revision

Confirm dimensions by measuring the sample or using the customer drawing. Cross-check the drawing revision against the model on the equipment nameplate.

Materials and Processes

Select the material grade and heat treatment for the operating conditions, processed material and equipment specifications. The options below are commonly used; confirm the final grade against the drawing and technical agreement.

Epoxy Resin Backing Compound (Nordbak

Select materials to suit OEM specifications and operating conditions; confirm the final grade and heat treatment against the drawing.

Loctite PC 9020), compressive strength >100 MPa under the specified product test conditions

Select materials to suit OEM specifications and operating conditions; confirm the final grade and heat treatment against the drawing.

Wear and Replacement Criteria

Common wear patterns and maintenance guidance are outlined below. Determine replacement intervals from operating conditions, processed material and equipment performance data.

Common Wear Patterns

  • Impact and vibration cause backing material to crack and break away
  • Backing material loses adhesion as it ages
  • Missing backing allows the liner to loosen
Replacement Criteria

Replace the backing compound as required whenever liners are changed. Inspect loose liners or fractured backing and recast the backing according to the specified procedure.

Materials and Process Control

Materials, heat treatment, composite construction and inspection requirements depend on the specific drawing, operating conditions and technical review.

Material Grade / Substrate

Epoxy crusher backing, such as Nordbak / Loctite PC 9020, with compressive strength >100 MPa under the specified product test conditions

Heat Treatment Condition

Follow the applicable standard for the material grade; confirm heat treatment and hardness requirements against the drawing

Composite / Hardfacing Requirements

Follow OEM design requirements; confirm any hardfacing or composite construction against the drawing

Dimensions and Inspection

Inspect key dimensions against the drawing for the OEM part number. Check mounting and sealing surfaces individually and perform UT/MT non-destructive testing on castings.

Parts with the same name may not be interchangeable because of differences in machine model, drawing revision, mounting interface or material specification. Use the complete model, serial number, drawing number and drawing before manufacture.
