Wear and Replacement Criteria
Common wear patterns and maintenance guidance are outlined below. Determine replacement intervals from operating conditions, processed material and equipment performance data.
Common Wear Patterns
- Impact and vibration cause backing material to crack and break away
- Backing material loses adhesion as it ages
- Missing backing allows the liner to loosen
Replacement Criteria
Replace the backing compound as required whenever liners are changed. Inspect loose liners or fractured backing and recast the backing according to the specified procedure.
