| Typical Properties and Acceptance Criteria | The rotor is critical to safe operation at high speed and heavy load. Control base material yield and tensile strength, low-temperature impact toughness, internal casting or forging quality, welding procedure qualification, blow bar slot geometry, mainshaft fit, circular runout, and static and dynamic balance. Crack repairs, hardfacing or structural changes require engineering review and NDT. Surface welding alone does not establish a sound repair. |
