Cast iron grades

Toggle plate material and intended overload response must match the machine design. Generic grey or ductile iron must not be assumed to be the standard material for all C Series toggle plates.

Cast steel grades

Verify cast-steel toggle plate material, heat treatment and overload response against the model drawing. Increasing strength must not compromise the machine's designed protective function.

Cross-section design

Maintain the original cross-section, end contact geometry and allowable loads. Do not increase thickness, weld-repair or alter the protective design without authorization from the equipment designer.

Wear and Replacement Criteria

Wear at the end contact faces, fatigue cracking at designed weakened sections, and overload fracture.

Replacement Criteria
