Part numbers are identification references for Metso Nordberg C Series machines. Confirm the equipment nameplate, serial number and drawing before ordering.
Metso manganese steel jaw dies are cast and solution-treated and quenched to obtain an austenitic microstructure with work-hardening and wear-resistant properties.
XT710 is a Metso jaw die material designation. Confirm composition, tooth profile and machine application against the specific part specification. Select replacement materials from the drawing and actual impact and abrasion conditions.
MX is Metso's composite jaw die technology combining a manganese steel matrix with localized wear-resistant inserts. Confirm the applicable machine and tooth profile. The name identifies the original configuration and does not guarantee replacement material or service life.
Manganese steel containing approximately 18% manganese is a candidate for high-impact service. Confirm the machine, tooth profile and material combination against the part specification.
Z denotes tooth count (for example, Z=8 means 8 teeth). Select Standard, Quarry, Super Teeth, Corrugated or Recycling profiles for the feed, opening, discharge setting and power. +40mm identifies a corresponding thicker configuration; check the effective feed opening and permitted discharge setting.
The fixed jaw die mounts on the stationary frame side and forms the crushing chamber with the movable jaw die. Wear affects tooth faces, valleys and the discharge area.
Wear affects tooth faces, reducing grip height; the lower discharge area, where material flow is concentrated; and tooth valleys, which may deform as material becomes embedded.
Assess tooth profile and remaining thickness against the machine manual. Stop and inspect when the setting cannot meet requirements, through-cracks or breakage occur, or the jaw die becomes loose on its seat; determine the required replacement scope.
Measure tooth profiles and the discharge setting regularly. Rotate jaw dies only where permitted by the design and follow the manufacturer's procedure. During replacement, inspect the frame seating surface, movable die and cheek plates for wear.
Equipment model (such as C125), part number if known, tooth profile and Z value, one-piece or two-piece design, material designation (XT710/MX/Mn18), thicker configuration (+40mm), machine serial number, and photographs or drawings.
