Provide the equipment nameplate, complete model and existing part number so that the installation position and drawings can be checked.
Confirm dimensions by measuring the sample or using the customer drawing. Cross-check the drawing revision against the model on the equipment nameplate.
Select the material grade and heat treatment for the operating conditions, processed material and equipment specifications. The options below are commonly used; confirm the final grade against the drawing and technical agreement.
Aluminum bronze sand casting; verify composition, as-cast or heat-treated condition and mechanical properties against ASTM B148 and the drawing.
Centrifugally cast bushing; verify casting quality, heat treatment condition and load-bearing design against the drawing.
Offers seizure resistance and particle embeddability; the specified lubrication conditions must be maintained.
Common wear patterns and maintenance guidance are outlined below. Determine replacement intervals from operating conditions, processed material and equipment performance data.
Measure bushing bore ovality and fit clearance, and assess replacement against the maintenance limits for the model. Inspect the bushing if head movement is abnormal or copper particles in the oil increase. Install with correctly positioned oil grooves and clear lubrication passages.
Materials, heat treatment, composite construction and inspection requirements depend on the specific drawing, operating conditions and technical review.
C95400 aluminum bronze (ASTM B148), centrifugally cast C95400 aluminum bronze, or C93200 leaded tin bronze (SAE 660)
Follow the applicable standard for the material grade; confirm heat treatment and hardness requirements against the drawing
Bronze bushings are not suitable for weld overlay repair. Replace the worn bushing as a complete part; surface repair is not recommended.
Manufacture to drawings produced from part measurements or supplied by the customer. Critical mating surface tolerances follow OEM requirements. Use UT/MT inspection to assess castings for shrinkage porosity and cracks against the agreed acceptance criteria.
Parts with the same name may not be interchangeable because of differences in machine model, drawing revision, mounting interface or material specification. Use the complete model, serial number, drawing number and drawing before manufacture.
