SAG Mill Liner Sets

A complete SAG mill lining system, with shell, head, grate and discharge parts designed as a coordinated system.

SAG Mill Liner Sets— a complete SAG mill wear lining system. Each set is coordinated as a whole: shell liners, head liners, grates, pulp lifters and discharge parts are matched to the mill model, ore characteristics and operating parameters.

Liner Set Bill of Materials

#Part / AssemblyMaterial GradeFunction
1Shell LinersMn18Cr2 / Cr-Mo alloy steelProtects the mill shell from impact and abrasion
2Lifter BarMn18Cr2 / Mn22Cr2Controls charge lift and trajectory, with a profile selected for the required charge motion
3End LinerMn13Cr2 / Mn18Cr2Protects feed and discharge heads from wear
4Discharge GrateCr-Mo alloy steelControls slurry discharge, with aperture design selected for the ore
5Pulp LiftersCr-Mo alloy steelTransfers slurry from the discharge grates to the discharge trunnion
6Filler Blocks / Packing BlocksCr-Mo alloy steelRetains liners and distributes preload
7Discharge ConeMn13Cr2Directs slurry towards the discharge outlet
8Bolt Assemblies42CrMo4Fastens liners to the shell, with flanges, washers and seals

Applications and Scope

A complete SAG mill lining system, with shell, head, grate and discharge parts designed as a coordinated system.

Basis for Material Selection

  • Select materials for impact loading, abrasion, temperature, corrosion and feed characteristics.
  • Assess chemical composition, heat treatment, hardness and mechanical properties together.
  • Maintain toughness, fatigue strength and dimensional stability. Hardness alone does not ensure service life.
  • Evaluate upgrades using wear measurements, failure modes and total tonnage processed.

Information Required for an Inquiry

OEM and mill model; shell internal diameter and length; current liner profile; ore type, feed size, moisture and slurry density; target throughput and service life; failure photographs and wear measurements.
Material information supports preliminary engineering selection. Final composition, heat treatment, hardness, dimensions and tolerances must follow the approved drawings and technical agreement.

Submit Equipment and Operating Data for Engineering Assessment

Provide the OEM, model, current liner profile, ore data, target throughput and service life. We will assess the liner set bill of materials, materials and manufacturing scope.
