Centrifugal Cleaner

A centrifugal cleaner uses tangential feed to create a high-speed vortex. Dense contaminants such as sand and metal particles move along the cone wall into the underflow, while accepted stock exits through the vortex finder at the top. The ceramic cone, inlet, underflow nozzle and reject outlet are major erosion zones.

Major Components and Assemblies

Individual and Maintenance Parts

Individual and Maintenance Parts

01

Ceramic Cone

Technical Requirements
Confirm alumina and SiC ceramic hardness against the specific grade and material certificate, and protect the ceramics from external impact.
02

Underflow Nozzle

Technical Requirements
The bore size controls underflow; set the wear limit by the permitted increase in bore diameter.
03

Vortex Finder

Technical Requirements
Requires erosion resistance, concentricity and chip-free inlet edges.
04

Cleaner Body

Technical Requirements
Accept 316L properties against the product form, material standard and certificate; finish weld surfaces according to the specified procedure.
05

Feed Inlet Liner

Technical Requirements
Consider ceramics at high-velocity tangential inlets and resilient composite structures where impact is greater.
06

Accepts Outlet Liner

Technical Requirements
Keep surfaces smooth to prevent fibre accumulation and crevice corrosion.
07

Rejects Outlet Liner

Technical Requirements
Consider harder materials in sand-rich reject zones and control steps between adjoining sections.
08

Gaskets / seals

Technical Requirements
Select EPDM, FKM or PTFE for the actual stock, temperature, cleaning media and seal design.
09

Mounting Bracket

Technical Requirements
The support must withstand the weight of the fully flooded bank, vibration and maintenance loads.

Materials for similarly named parts may differ by OEM, machine model and operating conditions. Confirm the machine model, OEM drawing number and measured dimensions before ordering or manufacture.
