Metso MD Series: MDM Hard-Metal-Lined and MDR Rubber-Lined Mill-Discharge Pumps

MD pumps serve grinding mill circuits — SAG/ball mill discharge, cyclone feed and tailings transfer. Identify MDM (hard-metal-lined) vs MDR (rubber-lined) from the nameplate before selecting wet-end wear parts.

Separate MDM and MDR wet ends before enquiry

MD pumps include hard-metal-lined MDM and rubber-lined MDR versions for grinding mill circuits. Do not treat MD as interchangeable with Orion H/M ranges or Thomas Simplicity dredge pumps. Confirm liner execution, inlet size and installed wet-end geometry from the nameplate and photographs.

Series wet-end detail for identification

MD pumps include hard-metal-lined MDM and rubber-lined MDR versions for grinding mill circuits (SAG/ball mill discharge, cyclone feed, tailings). Do not treat MD as the same wet-end family as Orion or Thomas Simplicity. Submit the nameplate, MDM/MDR tag, inlet size and liner execution with clear photographs of the installed wet end. ANRANST supplies aftermarket wear parts after identification — we do not publish ANRANST catalogue numbers as OEM equivalents.

MDM — hard-metal-lined

MDM uses a hard-metal-lined wet end for abrasive mill-discharge and related slurry duties. Confirm casing/liner stack and impeller from the installed pump, not from size tables alone.

Typical wet-end items: impeller, thickened casing and hard-metal liners (exact split per drawing to verify ).

MDR — rubber-lined

MDR is the rubber-lined execution of the MD platform. Same nominal size as an MDM unit does not prove liner or impeller interchange without checks.
