Alloy Cast Steel
Adjustment wedges must balance support strength, contact-wear resistance and toughness. Verify material, heat treatment and hardness against the model-specific part drawing.
Mechanical and hydraulic adjustment
Mechanical adjustment uses a manually driven screw. Hydraulic adjustment uses a cylinder to move the wedges, simplifying the adjustment procedure.
Wedge assembly
Check the wedge pair, drive screw or hydraulic cylinder and locking hardware against the assembly drawing. Jaw die clamping wedges and CSS adjustment wedges serve different locations and must not be confused by name.

Wear on sliding faces and adjustment-screw threads, and deformation of the wedge faces.
Replacement Criteria
